How to Whitelist an Email Address<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"Unsolicited and unwanted emails are becoming a larger problem since they\u2019ve been flooding inboxes with undesired messages. Email services have therefore made their spam filters more stringent.<\/p>\n

The problem for us is that you subscribe to our new post notifications system; we post a new article and our site automatically sends you a notification, to the email address you provided, so far so good. BUT – one of the features employed by the more popular web-mail providers (especially Gmail we find) is that the notification lands in your spam\/ trash\/ junk folder – which you hardly ever check – right? Because it probably IS almost<\/em> full of unsolicited spam mails. Who wants to wade through that swamp?!<\/p>\n

Consequently, if our email address is not in your address book previously (addresses that you have sent emails to in the past) , or it’s not on your application’s ‘whitelist ID’ database it gets diverted to your spam folder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Our Policy<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

At Big Gee’s Blog (BGB) we applaud these methods to prevent spam and help users have a clean and focussed inbox. But, nothing is really perfect. Many times, some important and informative emails are sent into the spam folder without our knowledge. This usually happens when the service provider does not find a particular email in its database of valid IDs or when you have not added it to your contact list.<\/p>\n

Whitelisting emails will make sure that you receive emails from the required email IDs while preventing spam coming in from the others.<\/p>\n

In this article, we’ve listed a few email applications and how you can whitelist an email address in them. If you are not receiving emails from BGB – or haven’t even received confirmation that you’ve subscribed (an acknowledgement message is always automatically sent to all subscribers when they sign up for notifications), the chances are that our messages are being dumped in your spam\/ trash\/\u00a0 junk folder, and you don’t even know it; instead you’re probably assuming that there’s something wrong at this end. There’s no problem here. So, can I suggest that you manually do something about it at your end, or at least on your mail provider’s account dashboard for your mails.<\/p>\n

Here is a broad guide for you to whitelist our email address<\/span><\/h4>\n

To add us to your Gmail Contacts List:<\/p>\n

  1. Click \u201cContacts\u201d on the left side of any Gmail page.<\/li>\n
  2. Then Click \u201cCreate Contact\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Copy and paste: admin@biggeesblog.cymru <\/strong>\u00a0into the primary email address dialog box.<\/li>\n
  4. Click \u201cSave\u201d.

    Set up a filter to our email address in your inbox:<\/p>\n

    1. Open your mailbox and click on \u201cMail Options\u201d (upper right-hand corner).<\/li>\n

    3. In the \u201cFrom header:\u201d row, pick \u201ccontains\u201d in the drop-down, and enter the email address:\u00a0admin@biggeesblog.cymru<\/strong>\u00a0in the box.<\/li>\n
    4. At the bottom of the page Click the \u201cChoose Folder\u201d and select \u201cInbox\u201d.<\/li>\n
    5. Click the \u201cAdd Filter\u201d button.

      Add our email address to your Safe Senders list:<\/p>\n

      1. Go to the Tools menu, click \u201cOptions\u201d.<\/li>\n
      2. Then on the Preferences tab, click \u201cJunk E-mail\u201d.<\/li>\n
      3. And, within the Safe Senders tab, click \u201cAdd\u201d.<\/li>\n
      4. In the Add address box, copy and paste admin@biggeesblog.cymru<\/strong>. Click OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Outlook also considers email IDs added to contacts to be safe. You can add admin@biggeesblog.cymru<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>to your contact list in Outlook. This can be done by opening the email you received from us, right-clicking the From address, and selecting \u201cAdd To Contacts\u201d. You can also access your Address Book via the tools drop-down menu.<\/p>\n

        Add our email address to your Hotmail Safe List:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Open your mailbox and click \u201cOptions\u201d (upper right-hand corner).<\/li>\n
        2. Click the \u201cJunk E-Mail Protection\u201d link.<\/li>\n
        3. Select the \u201cSafe List\u201d link.<\/li>\n
        4. Copy and paste admin@biggeesblog.cymru<\/strong>\u00a0into the dialog box titled \u201cType an address or domain\u201d.<\/li>\n
        5. Click the \u201cAdd\u201d button next to the dialog box.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          If the mailing is in your \u201cJunk E-Mail Folder\u201d, open the email and click the \u201cNot Junk\u201d button.<\/p>\n

          Please check that admin@biggeesblog.cymru<\/strong>\u00a0is not in your Blocked Senders list. You can access the Blocked Senders list by moving to Options, Junk E-Mail Protection and then Blocked Senders List. If you see an email address that shouldn\u2019t be a part of this list, select it and click the Remove button.<\/p>\n

          Others<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

          The most common ways to whitelist an email address is by adding it to your email address book, white list or safe list in your email application. However, there is no standard method and it might differ from application to application.<\/p>\n

          If you do not find such an option, you will need to contact the support team of your email application and they\u2019ll surely be able to help you with this.<\/p>\n
